Jakarta 487 Anniversary Logo Officially Launched

Welcoming Jakarta Anniversary on the upcoming June 22, Jakarta Provincial Government is officially launched Jakarta 487 anniversary logo at City Hall, Friday (5/16). The first time logo takes New Jakarta, Jakarta Forward as a theme and will be celebrated from 1 to 28 June.

The orange color illustrates the strength and warmth of the people in Jakarta. The blue color describes communication, creativity, and confidence. The color green symbolizes earth, fertility, and sustainability

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said that with the unveiled and the launch of Jakarta 487 anniversary logo, it is a platform for the citizens of the city, especially the younger generation, to know more about the cultures and Jakarta history.

"I hope the younger generation know the Jakarta culture also know their heroes better, especially Ismail Marzuki," said Basuki, Friday (5/16).

Assistant Governor for Public Welfare (Askesmas), and also the Chairman of the Jakarta Anniversary Committee, Bambang Sugiyono, added that the launching for the anniversary logo is the first time organized by the city government. Previously, the city government never held any program like this for Jakarta anniversary.

“This year is different. Because in previous years, we did not do the logo unveiling and launching," stated Bambang.

The launch of the logo, according to Bambang, is a sincerity form of city government to build a better Jakarta. He expected greater participation from the public and private sector for a high respect and appreciation for the city.

Logo shaped of 487 number is dominated by three colors: yellow, blue, and green. In these number, there are zig zag lines and a triangle.

Zig zag lines present the rapid dynamic growth motion of the city and the triangle is a picture of man's relationship with God and nature. Both of these images is a symbol of the future Jakarta to be more advanced and safer city.

Meanwhile, the theme of Jakarta 487 anniversary brings the concept of progress and togetherness. New Jakarta is also interpreted with the spirit of change and managing the capital city to be more humane, better future, and has a specific branding, but still keep maintaining the diversity that grow and thrive in Jakarta.

In the anniversary evening peak on June 21, Jakarta Nite Festival will be held of entertainment stages along Jalan MH Thamrin until HI roundabout with a new look of the roundabout. Meanwhile, around the national monument will be held bazaars and entertainment stage that will feature city artists.
