Illegal Parking, 31 Vehicles Executed in North Jakarta

31 cars deflated and ticketed by joint personnel of police, TNI, and North Jakarta Transportation Department during a raid around school and road in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Monday (5/19). Vehicles parked on roadside is often causing traffic jam.

The raid which was began around 10.30 AM until 01.00 PM, started by sweeping JAC School area on Jalan Gading Nias. Ten cars which parked on the roadside were deflated at the scene.
Seven cars deflated in front of Al-Azhar School on Jalan Boulevard Timur and eight cars deflated in front of Santo Yakobus School on Jalan Pegangsaan Dua.

“Many residents complained schools and restaurants area become illegal parking location and caused congestion. Therefore, we execute them by deflating their vehicles,” explained Sitorus on Monday (5/19).
The area around school and restaurant in Penjaringan and Kelapa Gading Sub-District are prone to illegal parking. According to Sitorus, the perpetrators have violated Article 24, paragraph 1 of Bylaw No. 12/2003 on traffic and transport, as well as Article 55 of Law No. 22/2009 on traffic.
“In the future, we will coordinate with Primary and Secondary Education Department to disseminate the rule to school party. So that they do not park on the road
side again,” said Sitorus.The illegal parking also occurred on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan also. Five trucks were deflated and one truck with plate number of K 1493 KH was ticketed due to absence vehicle document.
One of car drivers with plate number of B 1363 UZL, Sri Handayani (45), had argued about her car deflated all of a sudden when she was picking up her kid in SD Al-Azhar.
“The school party does not provide parking area, then where should I park? Moreover, why there is no announcement to us in advance,” Handayani complained.
