Basuki : Jokowi Still Lawfully as City Governor

Jakarta vice Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, specifically congratulates Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Jusuf Kalla declaration as president an vice president candidate for 2014 to 2019 in Gedung Joeang 45, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (5/19).

According to Basuki, even though Jokowi already signed up to Election Commission (KPU), but Jokowi is still lawfully as Jakarta Provincial Governor Jokowi until his leave proposal granted by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Basuki added, Jokowi declaration is affecting the working program since his leave proposal to be signed on May 31, 2014. "It means the governor's work is piled up," Basuki added.

He continued, priority programs such as river and sub-river normalization will be still conducted. "No priority programs are going to be abandoned," he continued.

As reported earlier, Jokowi had filed his leave proposal to President SBY. Jokowi requested to take leave on May 18, but the Home Ministry granted on May 31, 2014.
