Channel on Jl DI Panjaitan Strewn By Mud Up to 1 Meter

The water channel on Jl DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta is strewn with mud up to one meter and one kilometer long. Allegedly, it triggered puddles on Jl DI Panjaitaan, precisely in front of Wika building, Cawang last week.

After being checked, there are still building materials under the bridge and its channel. We also see mud as high as one meter with one kilometer long

Section Head of Maintenance for East Jakarta Water Management Sub-dept, Yoserizal disclosed, from checking results, the channel is still full of waste from castings project.

Even, there are also seen lumps of concrete under the connecting bridge. The condition is very disturbing the existing drainage system.

A Connecting Channel in Joglo Dredged

"After being checked, there are still building materials under the bridge and its channel. We also see mud as high as one meter with one kilometer long," he told, Monday (10/17).

His side will dredge the mud soon. If it needs heavy equipment, he would use mini heavy equipment, considering there are big trees and sidewalks along the road.

Similar condition also caused water flowing into the waterway under the road and highway.

He added, water flow in the channel should flow into the south towards north or from Wika building towards sluice gate nearby Brantas Abipraya building.
