October, Jakarta Inflation Reaches 0.25 Percent

Along October 2016, the inflation rate in Jakarta has reached 0.25 percent. The value is higher than the same month at national level, which is 0.14 percent.

Jakarta BPS Head, Syech Suhaimi disclosed, there are five expenditure groups that influence on inflation. Meanwhile, there are only two expenditure groups that experience deflation.

"Inflation in October is higher than national, which is 0.14 percent. In Jakarta, it is only 0.25 percent," he disclosed, at Jakarta BPS office, Jl Salemba Tengah, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (11/1).

Food Distribution Affects City's Inflation Rate

Those five groups that experience inflation are housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel that accounted for 0.17 percent and health 0.20 percent.

Then transportation, communication and finance service group reaches 0.15 percent and fast food, drink, cigarette and tobacco 0.13 percent, as well as education, recreation and sport 0.03 percent.

While two groups that experience deflation or index declining are food with 0.38 percent and clothing 0.08 percent.

"The most influencing inflation this time is the rising prices of electricity, red peppers, and LPG," he told.

If it is compared through year by year, the inflation will still lower than national. National inflation reaches 3.31 percent, while City only 2.71 percent.

Until the end of this year, it is expected can be maintained because some factors lies in the central government. While from Jakarta Provincial Government, can still be controlled, such as food group.
