We just wait for the issuance of Governor Regulation. After it is issued, we will allocate the PMP fund soon
Jakarta Provincial Government will inject Rp 350 billion as fund of government investment participation (PMP) to PT Transportasi Transjakarta in 2015. The capital participation is conducted in order to facilitate the PT Transjakarta in managing all public transports, including double-decker tourist bus in Jakarta next year.
"We just wait for the issuance of Governor Regulation. After it is issued, we will allocate the fund soon," said Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama, at City Hall, Wednesday (5/21).
City Handed Bus Procurement to PT TransjakartaBasuki disclosed that his party also appointed Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar as one of the commissioners to supervise the PT Transjakarta's management. "Mr. Akbar is expert in all sorts of Transjakarta before. That's why we want him to supervise the PT Transjakarta management," he stated.
Jakarta government, he continued, also agreed injecting fund for bus maintenance and its driver salary. This is because Transjakarta bus ticket price is currently cheaper compared to other transports in the capital.
"The existence of the Transjakarta bus fleet is a lot and its size is also bigger, we also equate the ticket price with Kopami and Kopaja which reaches Rp 5,000. I guess people do not mind it as long as the bus is always available every five minutes and comfortable," exclaimed Basuki.
He added that PT Transjakarta will manage all public transports including double-decker tourist bus. The one-roof Management is conducted to anticipate the bus drivers picking up and dropping off passengers in forbidden places until causing traffic congestion in the city.
"Ticket transaction will be paid per kilometer later, thus there will be no more driver stops haphazardly to pick up and drop off passenger," he stressed.
