S. Jakarta to Kick Off Gambang Kromong Festival

South Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept is scheduled to hold the Gambang Kromong Festival on November 12, 2016. As planned, the festival will be staged on the yard of Cipedak Urban Village, Jagakarsa.

The festival participant is from SMK 57, SMA 49, SMP 253, and SMK 63, hopefully all can participate. One team consists of 10-15 people

Head of South Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept, Driah Triastuti disclosed, as many as 14 studios of Gambang Kromong art will be involved in the festival. They are Silibet, Setia Muda, Bunga Cimpedak, Setu Babakan, Ji'ih, Saung Balaga, Dendang Jakarta, Mustika Jaya, Naga Putih, Fajar Ikhyah, and Gaya Muda.

Aside that, a number of schools that have Gambang Kromong extracurricular would also enliven the festival that is the first time held.

She continued, Gambang Kromong art studio in South Jakarta that have been recorded is relatively little, only 10 studios. Hence, her side plans to hold the Grambang Kromong Festival as a form of preservation and sustainable development.

It is slated to start at 8 AM. Every participant will perform their ability to compete for the first winner. The winner would get coaching money, as well as charter and trophy.

The first winner will get coaching money Rp 4,000,000, second winner Rp 3,500,000 and third winner Rp 3,000,000. Then for the first runner-up will get Rp 2,500,000 and second runner-up Rp 2.000.000.

"After festival, the winners will also be empowered," he said.
