Arrangement for 39 Sidewalks Has Reached 70 Percent

Jakarta Bina Marga Dept keeps trying to complete a pilot project in terms of arrangement of 39 sidewalks that have reached 70 percent.

"This pilot project still keeps being carried out and is planned to be completed on December 15, 2016. The progress has touched 70 percent," said Yusmada Faizal, Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Dept, Tuesday (11/8).

Yusmada mentions, a number of sidewalks that being constructed can already be seen by local people. Among them are sidewalks in Tanah Abang (Central Jakarta), Muara Karang (North Jakarta), Melawai (South Jakarta) and Cawang (East Jakarta).

Sidewalk on Jalan Yos Sudarso Rebuilt

"Besides completing utility manhole, sidewalk is also developed using floor guide for people with disability," he explained.

In future, he added, 39 sidewalks that arranged will no longer be affected by the demolition of the utility network project. Because the sidewalk was built and equipped by utility manhole.

"After this, we'll ask the cable owner such as PLN and Telkom to make a new network in the existing manhole. Thus the sidewalk can operate maximally," he finished.
