Next Week, 53 Buildings in Cawang Demolished

53 buildings that built on Jl Ciliwung II, RT 06/01 Cawang, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta is scheduled to be demolished next week. It is done, because tens of buildings affected normalization of Ciliwung River.

Mayor of East Jakarta, Bambang Musyawardana disclosed there are 33 plots of land occupied by 53 buildings. Due to not having land certificate, these buildings will be demolished next week.

"33 buildings that will be demolished stood atop a land as long as 250 meters. We've socialized it to locals and they will be relocated to Rawa Bebek Flat," he stated, Wednesday (11/9).

Ciliwung River Normalization in Bukit Duri Accelerated

As the initial stage, the river would be installed with sheet pile as long as 250 meters. The installation will be continued up to 750 meters long in RW 12.

"Heavy equipment has been sent to the location for demolishment. We plan to deploy 400 personnel," he told.

At the same location, Cawang Urban Village Head, Haerudin added, there are four RWs affected Ciliwung project. They are RW 01, 02, 08 and 12. In RW 01, 53 buildings will be demolished. Until now, 21 buildings were demolished by the owner.

"There are totally 110 plots of land spread in four RWs. All will be done gradually," he finished.
