Again, Jalan DI Panjaitan Inundated

Heavy rain that poured Jakarta and its surrounding areas yesterday, has left inundation on Jl DI Panjaitan, precisely in Kebon Nanas area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. The water level reached 50-70 centimeters. 

Severe inundation has hit our residential twice. And it takes a long time, whereas the water level only reaches 50 centimeters and recedes about 30 minutes

Besides many motorcycles are broke down, it also caused traffic jam, especially from Cawang towards Tanjung Priok.

Cahyadi (39), a local resident expressed, inundation that occurs lately is very annoying. Vehicles cannot pass through, especially motorcycle and sedan car.

Hundreds of Homes in Cawang Flooded

It is allegedly due to covered crossing by sheet pile on the east side of Jl DI Panjaitan. Around one hour after heavy rain, the condition has improved. Nevertheless, locals hoped related unit to find solution how to minimize inundation at a later time.

"Severe inundation has hit our residential twice. And it takes a long time, whereas the water level only reaches 50 centimeters and recedes about 30 minutes," he complained.

Sukirman (42), a motorcyclist admitted he had to try passing the road. He only thought the inundation is not too deep. "In fact, the bike suddenly breaking down," he admitted.
