Inundation on Jl Jendral Sudirman Handled

80 joint personnel of Water Management and PPSU are handling inundation in front of Sampoerna Strategic Building, Jl Jendral Sudirman Karet, Semanggi, Setiabudi, Saturday (11/26).

Jakarta Water Management Dept Head, Teguh Hendrawan expressed has reported inundation on the fast lane, Jl Sudirman from Paspampres. After being checked, it is due to malfunctioned channel thus water that empties into Krukut River cannot flow well.

Moreover, there is contruction of infrastructure and building around the location. His side also found a lot of garbage and utility that settle there.

"I get a report about inundation from Paspampres. We then take initiative to do demolishment. Our main duty is to restore the function of drainage and channel thus water can flow smoothly," he told.

Besides repairing gutter, his side will build manhole on the sidewalk nearby the Sampoerna Strategic Building. its function is to facilitate the janitor cleaning the channel. It is targeted to be finished in two weeks ahead.

"This condition is due to bad city planning, building structure, low awareness of the developer about drainage," he stated.

Two heavy equipments type breaker and excavator also sent to optimize inundation handling in the field.
