Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama challenges PT Jakarta Monorail (JM) to hold a public hearing related to the delay of monorail construction in the capital city.
I’ve already told the deputy to challenge PT JM to hold a public hearing. We’ve mentioned them on twitter, when they want to hold it. So, no need to debate through all sorts of opinion

I’ve already told the deputy to challenge PT JM to hold a public hearing. We’ve mentioned them on twitter, when they want to hold it. So, no need to debate through all sorts of opinion ,” stressed Basuki, Monday (5/26).The statement was conveyed by Basuki because PT JM made a public opinion that the delay of monorail construction was caused by Jakarta Provincial Government.
Basuki Threatened PT JM to End Partnership“The thing that makes us doubt is that there is no bank willing to finance them (PT JM). What is that mean? It means there is something wrong, a missing link,” he stated.
Basuki’s doubt is very reasonable. A number of supporting facts that the previous two Jakarta Governors, Sutiyoso and Fauzi Bowo, until the support from former Vice President Jusuf Kalla and former Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, did not succeed in getting financial support from banks to PT JM.
“There is no bank willing to finance. Mr. Fauzi Bowo had sent a letter, telling this is default. Even the poles have been surveyed and instructed to be paid, it didn’t. We also cannot demolish the poles,” he uttered.
Basuki asserted that PT JM capital to build monorail is obtained from 80 percent of income of property built on the land provided by Jakarta Provincial Government. But, PT JM never tells it on the mass media.
“Do they ever tell their on the mass media commercial that 80 percent of their income is from property? Never! It is never announced to the public,” he said.
As reported before, PT JM Director, John Aryananda, accused Basuki has politicized monorail project. He regretted Basuki’s statement that monorail is unworthy.
“Jakarta Provincial Government has chosen to cooperate with us. But, why it seems like being politicized,” expressed Aryananda in a discussion at Kuningan City, South Jakarta, Saturday (5/24).
