Becoming Plt, Basuki Will Handle All Policies

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki T Purnama, said that he has full authority for all Jakarta Governor policies in all projects and plannings, such as monorail policy that its business plan refused by him.

According to Basuki related to his inauguration on becoming Jakarta Governor Acting on June 1, he will have full authority on any policies the same with Jakarta Governor has. Such thing is automatically becomes his obligation even though there is no special instruction from the governor.

“Everything is fine. Just work as usual even though there is no command letter. There is nothing new as well. No problem in contract, all I need to do is just sign it. It has the same authority with the governor,” explained Basuki in his working room at City Hall, Wednesday (5/28).

Basuki said that all authorities to decide policies will be handed to himself. However, only one thing that he cannot do as Jakarta Governor Acting that is the policy to remove officials including Heads of City Departments. Authority to remove officials could only be pursued if there is consent and permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

Basuki added that certain parties do not mind the smooth running of the policy provisions that decided by himself in certain things. Moreover, he will not have that position in long time, just less than 41 days.

"Depends on all projects, it is allowed for all (including the monorail PKS), if it has finished why it is not allowed. If for example something goes wrong, then I will not sign it, right? It is only less than 50 days becoming Mr. Jokowi Acting until June 9. As a matter of fact, not until 50 days, only some days, not until a month and a half to be the Acting," he completed.
