95 Percent of Jokowi's Campaign Props Removed

We got order from governor to remove the campaign props on Wednesday. This is because 95 percent of props in Jakarta are owned by Mr. Jokowi

Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santoso admitted that the president and vice presidential campaign props in the capital have been removed. They consist of billboards and banners. "Most campaign props is found in Menteng area, Central Jakarta," he expressed, Friday (5/30).

According to him, the raid against campaign props is based on the instruction of Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo. "We got order from governor to remove the campaign props on Wednesday. This is because 95 percent of props in Jakarta are owned by Mr. Jokowi," he told. 

19,022 Campaign Props in Jakarta Lowered

He said that he has not received an official report about the amount of props that have been removed. Yet, the removed props in Menteng amounted to two trucks.

Such raid is also affirmed in Bylaw No.8/2007 on Public Order. Nevertheless, he cannot cast sanction to violators and only has right to remove the props.

"The sanction imposition is the authority of the Election Supervisory Committee (Bawaslu). During campaign period, the Satpol PP personnel would be on duty under the Bawaslu's recommendation," he told.

Regarding campaign props that have not been removed, Santoso promised to immediately remove them. "If there are still props, I think someone have installed them last night or this morning," he uttered.
