Central Jakarta Intensifies Waste Bank in Schools

As many as 52 schools in Central Jakarta recorded already have waste bank. From that number, it is deemed still lacking, because the number of schools reached hundreds. 

Concern of cleanliness and environment must be instilled early

Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede wants each schools to have waste bank. Besides having economic value, it is an effective way to reduce waste that disposed to Bantar Gebang Landfill.

"Concern of cleanliness and environment must be instilled early. State and private schools must have a waste bank," he expressed.

Waste Bank in Pekojan Operated

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. Head, Marsigit disclosed, socialization about utilization of waste bank in schools has been done long time ago. Unluckily, it is still unoptimal.

"Actually, it doesn't difficult to make waste bank, as long as there is intention," he finished.
