of Central Jakarta Social Sub-Dept, Sunday (6/1).Ramadan, PMKS in Central Jakarta Predicted to IncreaseHe said that there are several factors that cause the increase of PMKS in that region, particularly the last April. One of them because Ramadan is coming. "Last year (2013) the Ramadan was in July. Meanwhile, this year is in June, with that close proximity, PMKS will automatically increase," Sinaga uttered.
In addition, there are still many people who give alms on the road that also causes PMKS fertile in Central Jakarta. "Many people are still giving alms on the street rather than channel it through official institutions," Sinaga said.
However, his party continue to do controlling operations to clean Central Jakarta of the PMKS’s presence. Social Dept will mobilize all the power they have such as 21 Service, Monitoring, and Control (P3S) members and 3 operational car units.
"We will continue to do day and night operations to reduce and even diminish PMKS population here. We ask people not to give money or alms to PMKS to narrow their movements. If you want charity, please channel it only through official institutions," Sinaga appealed.
