South Jakarta Administration held various programs to enliven Jakarta’s 487th anniversary. A number of events starting from giving services to the residents until staging Betawian art and cultural performances were held.

The anniversary commemoration took place in Setu Babakan Betawian Cultural Village, Jagakarsa, Sunday (6/1). The event was signed by hundreds of balloons released to the air by South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor.
“The theme for Jakarta’s 487th anniversary is ‘New Jakarta – Jakarta Forward’. With the spirit of togetherness and change, Jakarta should be a friendly city and in line with big cities in Southeast Asia,” stated Noor.
City Anniversary North Jakarta Gave Free Birth CertificatesHundreds of residents who came there were amused by gambang kromong traditional music performance, Betawi comedy, marawis, and pop music performances. Door prizes were also prepared for them.
Not only in Setu Babakan, other events were also held in the municipality, such as Jakarta Youth Festival, Cycling Festival, Palang Pintu Festival, Setu Babakan Tour Festival, and entertainment stages set up in all sub-districts in South Jakarta.
