Residents Request to Normalize Taruna PHB Channel

Residents of RW 02, Sukapura Urban Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta, asking for Taruna connecting (PHB) channel on Jl. Taruna to be normalized.

At first, Taruna connecting channel wide is 1.5 meters. But now it is less than one meter

"At first, Taruna connecting channel wide is 1.5 meters. But now it is less than one meter," said Cholid Mawardi, RW 02 Head, Sukapura Urban Village, Sunday (3/12).

He added Taruna connecting channel that now has 800 meters wide is running into Cakung Drain River and Cakung KBN River. Recently, there are several buildings that occupying PHB channel.

"To minimize inundation, we asked to immediately normalize the PHB channel," he closed.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Water Resources Sub-dept. Head, Herning Wahyuningsih, affirmed that her side has asked people who occupying the PHB channel to demolish their building themselves thus normalization can be done.

"If citizen are willing their building to be demolished, we will start to normalize soon," she closed.
