“Thank you for the grant. You’ll gain profit from this (from the commercial ads displayed on those buses, red.),” stated Basuki at Silang Monas Court, Friday (6/6).
According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government still needs about 60-70 double-decker buses to support the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system which will be implemented as congestion solution.
City Ready to Receive Grant of 30 Buses“We still need 60-70 double-decker buses. Later, PT TransJakarta will be the one managing it,” he told.
As known, the handover of these 30 new buses had hampered by problems relating taxation and restriction on diesel-fuel use. Basuki also had been angry when welcoming the entrepreneurs who wanted to donate the buses to Jakarta Provincial Government.
“We have gotten 30 buses. Wanted to have those delivered is so difficult. There were parties who had committed to give buses cancelled it due to complicated (bureaucracy). We’re frustrated, Sir, whether those buses would be accepted or not. If not, those buses will be sold,” expressed Anthony, one of company’s representatives at City Hall some time ago.
