A based-IT integrated library and a data center will be made in the ex-Pondok Bambu Urban Village office building, at Jalan Pahlawan Revolusi, Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit.

East Jakarta Library and Archival Sub-dept. Head, Fadlan Zurhan disclosed the facility is very important to encourage interest in reading.

"Here we have books and internet. Computer is equipped with application programs," he stated, Friday (3/24).

Several applications programmed in the computer are i-Jakarta, Indonesia One Search, functioning to find digital books in Indonesia. Besides that, there is also application to find out the number of the visitors.

Pondok Bambu Urban Village Head, Syahrul Munir disclosed, the building has been repaired and is ready to be used as a library. A number of bookshelves, tables, chairs are also available.

"The building concept is like a cafe. It has a reading room supported by AC, sofa, chairs and out door," he stated.

If it has been inaugurated, he added, it would be crowded by the visitor. Besides in residential area, the location is also strategic. Thus local residents easily reach it, either it is private vehicle or public transport.
