Integrated Transportation Terminal to Provide Thousands of Job Opportunities

As reported before, Jakarta Provincial Government is going to build an integrated transportation terminal in Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta. At this time, the construction plan has been listed in the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas). When it is realized, the terminal will absorb a lot of workers.

So, if the Si Pitung Airport was realized, it will be (source of) PAD for us. The residents will also get jobs later, because there will be thousands of job opportunities

“The project will use the land that includes swamp. But first, it will be dried or reclamation,” stated North Jakarta Mayor, Heru Budi Hartono, Friday (6/6).

According to Hartono, the economic development in the future will be growing significantly, thus it is believed that the Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten, would no longer sufficient to meet the need for flights in Jakarta and surrounding areas. Besides, regional government also cannot rely on local revenues that are conceptual as it is today.

City to Build Integrated Transportation Terminal Area in North Jakarta

“We can’t just rely on the income from motorcycle or restaurant (tax collection),” he said.

Later, Hartono continued, the construction of the terminal as wide as 200 hectares can be utilized by Jakartans in aviation field. Thus, city’s local revenue (PAD) will be growing.

“Soekarno-Hatta Airport is not located in Jakarta. So, if the Si Pitung Airport was realized, it will be (source of) PAD for us. The residents will also get jobs later, because there will be thousands of job opportunities,” he uttered.
