Transportation Dept. to Apply Closure Trial at Four Raiway Crossings

Jakarta Transportation Dept. is about to apply traffic engineering trial at some railway crossings that will be closed down. 

So we will recommend to the crossing bridge construction to the Bina Marga or the Director General of Railways

For the first phase, closure trial will be executed at four railway crossings, namely Jl. TB Simatupang, Pondok Kopi, Pejompongan 1 and Pasar Minggu.

Head of Traffic Section for Jakarta Transportation Dept., Priyanto disclosed socialization will be held first before closing down those crossings. The first socialization is slated at Pejompongan 1 railway crossings on March 31-April 6, 2017.

"On April 7-May 4, we will do closure trial. And decision whether it is continued or not will be decided on May 5," he stated, Tuesday (4/4).

He explains during trial at Pejompongan 1, vehilces coming from Jl. Tentara Pelajar-Jl. Tentara Pelajar/Permata Hijau will be rerouted to U-turn of Jl. Penjernihan (prior to SPBU).

While for railway crossings on Jl. TB Simatupang, socialization is slated on April 7-17. And on April 18-May 18, traffic engineering trial and its decision whether it is continued or not will be set on May 19.

During trial, vehicles coming from Jl. Depok-Pasar Rebo will be rerouted to spin in front of Pasar Minggu Robinson and go through underpass. Or they can spin in front of Ministry of Agriculture.

Then railway crossings on Jl. Pasar Minggu, socialization is slated on April 20-27 and traffic engineering trial on April 28-May 12. Then the final decision will be set on May 13.

Related to traffic engineering trial, vehicles from Jl. Kalibata-Pasar Rebo will be rerouted to go through underpass via Jl. Tanjung Barat Raya.

As for the railway crossings at Pondok Kopi, socialization is set on April 20-27 and trial on April 28-May 19. And then continued with the final decision on May 23.

For vehicles coming from Jl. I Gusti Ngurah Rai-Jl. Penggilingan will be directed to the flyover. Then those coming from Jl. Penggilingan-Pondok Kopi, will be directed to the flyover to spin at Jl. I Gusti Ngurah Rai.

"That became our consideration is pedestrian bridge. So we will recommend to the crossing bridge construction to the Bina Marga or the Director General of Railways," he closed.
