We’ve controlled them many times, but they always come back again
Daniel (27), one of the customers, told that the traders are persistent in selling on sidewalk on Jalan Jatibaru because many people are interested by the rims they sold. “Outside (in other locations), medium quality rim could be priced for Rp 5-7 million each. But there (on Jalan Jatibaru), the rims are sold for Rp 1-3 million each, depends on its smoothness,” he told, Sunday (6/8).
However, Daniel also admitted that indeed traffic congestion often happened on Jalan Jatibaru because many people parked their vehicles on roadside to buy the tires and rims. “Yes, they are violating (the rules). But due to (the goods sold are) cheap, there are always buyers. That what makes those vendors keep running their business,” he uttered.
