Pondok Kopi Railway Crossing Is Closed

After passing through a long socialization a week ago, the Pondok Kopi railway crossings in Duren Sawit, East Jakarta is finally closed. It is only a trial that has been done since last Friday night.

It's just trial, we will do this until May 19. But it will be done permanently on May 23

East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. Traffic Section Head, Andreas Eman said Pondok Kopi railway crossing is closed, as it is the program of Transportation Ministry, which aims to improve safety and comfort for motorists, especially there will also be a double track at the crossing.

"It's just trial, we will do this until May 19. But it will be done permanently on May 23. It also aims to minimize traffic accident," he expressed, Saturday (4/29).

Such railway crossing is using movable concrete barrier (MCB). While to parse traffic jam, a number of Transportation Sub-dept. officers have been dispatched to the field.

For the vehicles, those will be rerouted to flyover above.

Vehicles coming from Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai towards Jalan Raya Penggilingan or Jalan Soemarno, will be rerouted to flyover.

Otherwise, vehicles coming from Jalan Soemarno or Jalan Penggilingan toward Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai must pass through flyover. It also applies to those who want to go to Klender Baru Station or Bintara Toll Gate and its surrounding areas, must spin first through Buaran U-turn.
