1,000 Mangrove Seeds Planted in Tidung Island

Jakarta Agriculture Maritime and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept.'s Marine Conservation and and Aquaculture Center Technical Working Unit (UPT) cooperated with PMI (Indonesia Red Cross) planted 1,000 mangrove seeds and 200 coral reefs in Tidung Island, South Region of Seribu Islands.

We hope citizens or other organizations are interested to hold similar activity

KPKP Dept.'s Marine Conservation and Aquaculture Center UPT Head, Una Rusmana said, the purpose of this activity is to educate citizen in saving and conserving nature.

"Coral seeds transplantation and mangrove planting are held around Jembatan Cinta. We hope citizens or other organizations are interested to hold similar activity," he expressed, Monday (5/8).

Seribu Island Residents Appealed to Be More Active Preserving Coral Reefs

He explained mangrove and coral reef seeds are given by his side for free. Those seeds are taken from coral gardens and mangrove seedlings in Tidung Kecil Island area.

"Coral garden that we managed has an area of 2.5 hectares. While for mangrove and coastal plants has 2.15 hectares," he closed.
