Betawi Culture Preservation Keeps Being Encouraged

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept. continues to encourage the implementation of Betawi culture preservation. Besides intensifying socialization to tourism industry, they will also cooperate with hotels belonging Jakarta BUMD. 

But we hope it could be realized this year

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency Secretary, Jeje Nurjaman said implementation of Betawi culture preservation is written on Tourism and Culture Dept.'s Circulation Letter No. 9/2017. The letter regulates all managers of hotels, malls, plazas and tourism areas are obliged to market Betawi products.

"We're looking to prepare a Betawi souvenir counter pilot at Grand Cempaka Hotel. About design and its content, the hotel managers plan to cooperate with one of the forums from the Betawi cultural village," he stated, Tuesday (5/9).

Additionally, he explained, each hotel should serve Betawi culinary in the fourth week of every month during the city's anniversary.

"The overall implementation in tourism business may take time. But we hope it could be realized this year," he disclosed.
