Jakarta Provincial Government supports idea from Ministry of Education and Culture's Language Development and Training Board who declared state language prioritization in public space, Wednesday (5/10), in Soemantri Brodjonegoro Sport Arena, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

"Movement made by this Language Board must be supported by us. We hope thus could become an example and another region could declaring the same thing," said Fatahillah, Assistant of Jakarta Secretary Community Welfare.

He added that implementation of using standard language is actually listed in Local Regulations No.1/1992 about Bahasa utilization in billboard, signpost, and banner, will be updated through Local Regulation No.9/2014 about advertising banner installation.

"Later it is adjusting to Language Board declaration before. We will follow up each regional working unit (SKPD)," he added.

In this declaration, there are 3 highlighted points. There are the public as lifelong literature space, the presence of Bahasa Indonesia to maintain diversity and strengthen the country, and spirit to building a nation is needed to be rev ived.
