City Targets to Produce 10,000 Mangrove Seedlings This Year

To support conservation efforts, the Aquaculture Center and Sea Conservation (PBKL) Technical Executing Unit (UPT) under Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. is targeting to plant 10,000 mangrove seedlings this year.
Jakarta PBKL UPT for Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Dept. Head, Una Rusmana said her dept. has a mangrove seeds garden and other coastal plants on Tidung Kecil Island as wide as 2.15 hectares. In the area, there have been 1,020 mangrove trees planted.

"Our coral garden has 2.5 hectares width. Until this month, we have produced 3,240 coral seedlings,” he closed.
