TransJakarta bus new route of Pulogadung-Harapan Indah, Bekasi, West Java, is apparently still quiet from passenger. Since its launching on May 19, the route served by five single buses at 5 AM-10 PM is only able to accommodate 400 passengers per day.

There are other public transports that can be used (in Pulogadung-Harapan Indah route). Moreover, the level of traffic congestion in this route is high

The quiet passenger is triggered by dense traffic and overload public transports. Moreover, TransJakarta bus is prohibited to enter the Harapan Indah Residential Complex due to rejection from public transport drivers. The bus can only operate until main gate or Harapan Indah Roundabout.

Head of TransJakarta Public Service Unit (BLU) Public Relations Division, Sri Ulina Pinem, stated that the quiet passenger in TransJakarta bus Pulogadung-Harapan Indah route is caused by overload public transports. But, she is optimistic the amount of passengers will continuously increasing.

“ There are other public transports that can be used (in Pulogadung-Harapan Indah route). Moreover, the level of traffic congestion in this route is high . When the traffic is dense, the distance of Pulogadung-Harapan Indah can be travelled for more than an hour,” she explained, Wednesday (6/11).

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, a number of TransJakarta bus stops in Pulogadung-Harapan Indah route are quiet from passenger. If there were passengers, there are only 3-5 people.

Samuel (35), a resident of Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, admitted that he prefers taking KWK public minivan rather than TransJakarta bus because the amount of KWK fleets is a lot.

“When I’m in a hurry, I prefer to take KWK,” he told.
