Traffic Under Pondok Kopy Flyover Chaotic

Residents complained of traffic jams and distractions often happened on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, right under Pondok Kopi flyover, East Jakarta. They demanded City Transportation Department and Traffic officers to make decisive action for indiscipline Metromini bus crews and motorists.
Transportation Department should have responded this matter, because accident often happened here. They should not wait for a victim to do action

“There were often clashes because motorists are often grazed each other,” said Demen (42), a resident of Penggilingan, East Jakarta, Wednesday (6/11).
According to Demen, many motorists that rode contra flow is because they more prefer to make it as shortcut. The distance to turn around is quite far, under Pulo Gebang flyover, near East Jakarta Mayor office.
“Motorists have to turn around on toll road side that the distance is quite far. Thus motorists are recklessly to ride contra flow,” he said.
Meanwhile, Parlin (47) a resident who everyday cross under Pondok Kopi flyover admitted that he nearly crashed getting hit by Metromini that turn around contra flowed. “Department of Transportation should consider it due to many accidents here. They should not wait for another victim to do action,” he said.
Head of East Jakarta Transportation Department, Bernart Hutajulu said that there were often raids and controls on the area. Many traffic sign installed. “Public transportation often parked, but the driver is not on place,” he said.
Bernar said that socializations has made by officers on the location related of regulation enforcement. He also said that he will increase supervision on the location. “We will increase supervision on location and decisive action for violators,” he said.
