Draft Bylaws About Market Management Formed to Advance Small Traders

Three draft bylaws about market management filed by Jakarta DPRD is a commitment of Jakarta Provincial Government in defending small traders.

Hence, the government needs to be present in promoting small traders to be equal and competing with large ones

Such draft bylaws in question are about marketing, Pasar Jaya Regional General Company, as well as Management and Pasar Jaya Business Development.

Draft Bylaw on Industry Completely Discussed

"Development of trade and people behavior, as well as competition in Jakarta has been very rapid and tight. Hence, it must be anticipated soon through these draft bylaws," expressed Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, Wednesday (7/10).

He explained, in outline, those would regulate the structure of Jakarta's marketing, the management of market areas until efforts to stem the rapidity of digital-based trading.

"Hence, the government needs to be present in promoting small traders to be equal and competing with large ones," he stated.

He explained they would also regulate the e-organization of PD Pasar Jaya as the Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in charge of marketing. It needs to be done in facing tight economic challenges.

"So Pasar Jaya can no longer be managed with systems and past management," he closed.
