Muara Angke Floating Restaurant Construction is Started

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat held a groundbreaking for Muara Angke Floating Restaurant Construction in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Sunday (8/20).

This will be used as tourism destination

The floating restaurant construction is using compensation from building floor coefficient (KLB) from two companies.

"Hopefully the construction period is not too long and can finish as soon as possible. At least 11-12 months it must be finished. After it is finished, please to maintain its cleanliness," he expressed.

Muara Angke Pier Projected to Become Biggest Pier in Asia

It is considered, restaurant construction will takes around 13 months to complete. Estimated construction cost is Rp 85.175 billion.

"This will be used as tourism destination. Many people will come here if everything can be maintained well from its cleanliness, safety, and comfort," he said.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. Head, Darjamuni added, Muara Angke Floating Restaurant has a design resembled to stingray with about 4.458 square meters wide.

This two-floor restaurant will be equipped with nine gazebos that can accommodate 29 seafood street vendors. Later on, it can accommodate around 500 visitors.

"Its construction will use KLB funds," he mentioned.

For information, Muara Angke Fishing Harbor has around 64 hectares land. It becomes one of fisheries communities economic centers with production of 150 tons per day.

This port that was built in 1994 is equipped with pier used for fish auction, cold storage, wholesale market, and fish market (Pujaseri).
