Kelapa Gading UPPRD Intensifies Target of Hotel & Parking Taxes

The Kelapa Gading Regional Tax Service Unit (UPPRD), North Jakarta is targeting to absorb hotel tax by Rp 33.201 billion and parking tax by Rp 39.636 billion this year.

We believe target can be achieved. Yet the number is still deemed minimal, as this area is an infrastructure project

"Until this month, especially hotel tax, has touched Rp 17.55 billion and parking tax Rp 18.011 billion," expressed Walden Nadeak, Head of Kelapa Gading UPPRD, Tuesday (8/22).

According to him, there are obstacles faced to meet the target of the two taxes. The number of infrastructure development has an impact on the hotel occupancy rate and also parking.

"The impact on traffic jam and people finally reluctant to visit Kelapa Gading area. Automatically, it reduces the acquisition of hotel and parking taxes," he expressed.

The infrastructure development, among others, are the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project that runs along Jalan Boulevard Raya, the canal project of the inner-city road on Boulevard Barat Highway and Jalan Boulevard Timur. The toll road connects the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) with the inner city toll road.

"We believe target can be achieved. Yet the number is still deemed minimal, as this area is an infrastructure project. Our tax revenue can be re-boosted after infrastructure development is complete," he uttered.
