Government Owners Must Be Educated About Saving Energy

Especially office boy, they need to be taught the discipline in turning off lights, computers to air conditioners

The occupants of the building, either managers or employees are appealed to continue to be educated about the importance of saving energy.

Assistant to the Governor for Spatial Planning and Environment, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa expressed, the related SKPD should provide insight and assistance to the building occupants thus the target energy savings can be achieved.

"Especially office boy, they need to be taught the discipline in turning off lights, computers to air conditioners," he stated, Thursday (8/24).

Meanwhile, Energy and Electricity Section Head, Edward Napitupulu added, pilot project monitoring of electricity consumption will be done in three government buildings.

"The government has a responsibility to be an example. Afterwards, the implementation of energy-saving program will also be imposed in private-owned buildings," he told.

As reported before, monitoring of energy consumption would be done in Block G Building, Jakarta City Hall, Cipta Karya Dept., Spatial Planning and Land Dept., and D Building of Central Jakarta Mayor Office.
