East Jakarta Administration and Economy Assistant, Suskristin said that if there is gas price increases like this, all agents are usually gathered. There were agent selling gas to other regions also.

“Usually Energy and Industrial Sub-Dept. officer gathers gas agents, but until this time I do not know if they had gathered or not. Usually there is cheating agents that sell gas outside East Jakarta such as Bekasi or other areas,” Suskristin said, Thursday (6/5).

According to him, agents dare to sell gas to other areas because the price is more expensive. "There should be sanction if agents do cheat. In fact, I dont know if the gas scarcity is caused by Pertamina limited stock or cheating," he added.

Due to this case, the resellers are scrambled to have gas in Cipinang Muara gas station, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. The 3 kilograms gas price has reached Rp 17 thousand. It is predicted to reach Rp 20 thousand on Ramadan. But, based on an agreement, the retailer only gets 6 gas canisters maximally per day.
