Auction for heavy renovation on 119 schools in Jakarta will enter contract signing process on September 7, 2017. Hopefully that renovation could be started soon and finish by the end of December.

Education Dept. (Disdik) Head, Sopan Adriyanto said, 119 schools will have heavy renovation this year. Though there is no contract sign yet, his side is optimistic the work can be done on time.

"All stages have been processed. It remains contract signing, and then work can be done soon," he expressed at City Hall, Monday (9/4).

According to him, heavy renovation work is different with total renovation. In heavy renovation, damaged parts of building will be repaired, such as leak roof, replacement for door or window frame. While total renovation is to demolish the recent building and rebuild it.

"Hopefully this December it could be done. Because heavy renovation is not like total renovation," he said.

He explained, heavy renovation just needs 3 months to be done and it is not disturb school activities (KBM). It means students do not need to be relocated to other schools.

"For total renovation, half of the proj ect is on progress. Even, several locations are almost done," he closed.
