Djarot Wants Dishub to Socialize Vehicle Garage Ownership Rules

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, wants Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) to socialize article 40 of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 5/2014 that regulates all vehicle owners to have garage.

Moreover, vehicle parked on narrow environment road will be very inhibiting

He hopes, through socialization, vehicle owners will build garage or find location for garage. It is done to prevent vehicle to be parked on the roadside, including environment road.

"Moreover, vehicle parked on narrow environment road will be very inhibiting. For example, when fire accident happens," he expressed, Friday (9/8).

He wants this rule to be applied strictly after it has been socialized. According to him, it is not too hard to monitor the implementation of this Perda which has been issued since April 2014.

"Easy, personnel just need to conduct night patrol. It certainly can be found. For vehicles that parked illegally and considered hinder the environment road will be towed," he closed.
