Free Entrance, Ancol Thronged by Visitors

Hundreds and thousands of visitors thronged Ancol Dream Park recreational area in North Jakarta. Residents who visit Ancol will not be charged if they come from 00.00 AM until this 12.00 AM. The umpteenth time of free entrance tickets is done by Ancol management to celebrate Jakarta anniversary.

Starting at 00.00 until 12.00 AM, the daily entrance fees of Ancol Dream Park charged Rp 20,000 is now free

"In order of Jakarta 487 Anniversary, today, starting at 00.00 until 12.00 AM, the daily entrance fees of Ancol Dream Park charged Rp 20,000 is now free," said Meity Yan Harahap, Corporate Communications Manager of PT Ancol Taman Impian, Sunday (6/22). However, vehicles are still charged Rp 15,000 for motorcycles and Rp 20,000 cars.

To enliven Jakarta Anniversary, Ancol has prepared a variety of attractions and interesting programs, including Betawi cultural performances and some promos that can be enjoyed by visitors. "We expect the visitors who come more than 100 thousand," said Harahap.

In addition, Ancol also prepares Ondel-Ondel parade which route comes from Ancol Carnival Beach toward Dolphin Park. The dozens of Ondel-Oondel Parade is accompanied by tanjidor orchestra, marching bands, dozens of Betawi dancers, Ketimpring, and Betawi bridegroom and groom followed by ornamental sado.

Ancol also flooded with visitors from outside town, such as Lani (49) who brought her family derived from Karawang, West Java. She claimed to bring her family to Ancol to celebrate 487 anniversary of Jakarta.

Lani deliberately chose Ancol as a tourist destination because of cheap and many facilities provided at this place. In addition, many featured attractions in Ancol and other interesting programs, one of them is Betawi art culture performance and Ondel Ondel parade.

"It is usually crowded in Jakarta Anniversary, so my family and I decided to come here," said Lani.
