Rp 160 M Collected Through Illegal Tree Logging Fines

Jakarta Forestry Dept. revealed people who try to cut down trees illegally will be sanctioned strictly.

Until now, about 10 cases of illegal tree logging case has been processed by collecting Rp 160 million as fines

Until now, the fines collected from tree logging fines without permits have been recorded to reach Rp 160 million.

Jakarta Forestry Dept.'s Community Empowerment Section Head, Henri Perez Sitorus said fine sanction is set in Article 12 Bylaw No. 8/2007 on Public Order.

Tree Logging Must Go Through PTSP Permission

"Until now, about 10 cases of illegal tree logging case has been processed by collecting Rp 160 million as fines," he expressed, Sunday (10/15).

He explained the fine nominal itself is set by a judge in court. Usually a fine is charged between Rp 10 million to Rp 15 million for each case.

"This case is not our own only, but we submit the file to the court in accordance with the location of tree logging without permission," he told.

All this time his dept. has been fining sanctions to people who set up buildings in the tomb area according to Bylaw No. 3/2007 on Funeral.
