Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, assessed that Adipura award from Ministry of Environment is not important. He thinks that Adipura award does not fit with reality on the field. Eventually, there is city which gets Adipura Trophy even though the city is dirty and filled with garbage.

"I have instructed that we do not have to join in Adipura. Why would we go back like we were young, if we get Adipura, the schools were dismissed for seeing a parade. What do we want to parade if the garbage is still left much," said Basuki at City Hall, Tuesday (6/24).

According to Basuki, Adipura award is not everything for Jakarta Provincial Government. Moreover, the road condition and river in the capital city is cleaner than the previous condition.

"If we want to be honest, the rivers are cleaner. Manggarai and all are cleaner anyway,” said the man who is usually called Ahok.

To be noted, there is no area in the city manages to get Adipura 2014 award. Previously, in 2013, two of six areas in the capital city achieved the cleanest metropolitan city. Adipura Kencana Trophy is given to the cities that exceed the limits in terms of the achievement of water and air pollution control, land management, climate change, social, economic and biodiversity. In 2014, 15 cities get Adipura Kencana. The 15 cities consist of four metropolitan cities, the two large cities, six medium cities, and three small cities.
