DPRD Discusses Additional Ferry Port of Muara Angke

The discussion meeting to follow up revitalization plan of Muara Angke Port, Penjaringan, North Jakarta was held again by the Special Committee (Pansus) of Muara Angke Port Arrangement for Jakarta DPRD.

This needs to add another land as wide as two hectares to the west side in order to meet the needs of residents and tourism towards Seribu Islands

This time, it was focused on determining the additional ferry port area managed by Jakarta Transportation Dept.

"This needs to add another land as wide as two hectares to the west side in order to meet the needs of residents and tourism towards Seribu Islands," expressed Ferrial Sofyan, Chairman of Pansus of Muara Angke Port Arrangement for Jakarta DPRD, Tuesday (10/24).

According to him, the current ferry port as wide as five hectares was not able to meet the needs of residents at the weekend.

"Therefore, we want to improve the pier to be international standard," he said.

In the meantime, Jakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah uttered, additional the pier wide including the anchoring pool for crossings should go through the approval of Jakarta Maritime, Fishery and Food Security Dept.

"But if the recommendation is like that, I agree. I agree with the leadership of the Pansus," he closed.
