“
MRT construction continues to run. The only thing left is utility problems, such as gas, PLN, and Telkom utilities . Indeed it’s a little bit late, one or two months from the predetermined schedule,” stated Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama after attending a seminar themed ‘Searching Jakarta Transportation Infrastructures Development Model’ held at Pullman Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/26).Again, 13 Buildings Affected by MRT DemolishedOther cause of MRT delay is land acquisition. One of those lands is the Lebak Bulus Indonesian Police Complex, which acquisition is still waiting for permit from the president. Other lands are which still in price negotiation process are the ones located in Lebak Bulus Stadium, Cipete, Haji Nawi, Blok A, Blok M, and on Jalan Kartini. These lands should have been acquisitioned on last February-March.
“The Lebak Bulus Indonesian Police Complex land is only exchange. We’re also late. Finance Minister had agreed to let the land go if we (Jakarta Provincial Government) let go South Jakarta Mayor Office. I’ve said okay and told BPKD last year, but BPKD’s work is late. That’s why I want to send a letter to Home Affairs Ministry to replace BPKD’s Head,” he uttered.
Basuki admitted that he does not want MRT construction hampered, so its physical construction could be on schedule. This is because MRT will be the backbone of transportation in Jakarta aside the Electric Rail Train (KRL) managed by PT KAI.
“The backbone of transportation in Jakarta is rail-based transportation like KRL, including MRT. They are both the same, anyway,” he told.
Currently, MRT construction has entered big scale construction phase since the digging for underground station at Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout has started on last April 4. At this time, the big scale construction has reached the point on Jalan Sisingamangaraja.
