“Later if demographic catastrophe happened, people would busy saving themselves. Therefore, city’s infrastructures must be arranged, including its transportation,” stated Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama in the seminar themed ‘Searching Jakarta Transportation Infrastructure Development Model’ which held at Pullman Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/26).

“Actually we already have mass transportation, namely the Commuter Line Train which is the same with Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). The only problem is the lack of rails. That’s why MRT is built,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, Directorate General of State Wealth for Ministry of Finance, Hadiyanto, said that the chance owned by Jakarta to build transportation infrastructures is very huge. However, there is gap between the government’s funding and the parties that provide the infrastructures. The gap needs to be filled by private parties as infrastructure providers to get everything done and do not fall behind.
“Besides that, we’re also hoping for the transportation infrastructures development in Jakarta to be a model for other regions,” he told.
