756 City Officials Must Submit LHKPN

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) obligates urban village head-level officials to report their wealth. There are at least 756 officials in Jakarta Provincial Government that are obligated to submit State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN).

“All officials from echelon II until echelon IV-B or urban village head-level are obligated to report their wealth to KPK. It is conducted to prevent corruption done by our civil servants (PNS),” stated Head of Jakarta Personnel Board (BKD), I Made Karmayoga, at City Hall, Wednesday (7/2).
According to Karmayoga, at first KPK only obligated 90 echelon II officials to report their LHKPN. But now, 756 officials are obligated. From that amount, there are only about 300 officials have submitted the LHKPN. Those who have not are asked to immediately submit the report, including urban village and sub-district heads.

Acting City Secretary Wiriyatmoko also asks all officials to report their wealth honestly.
“If you have Rp 1 trillion, write it down as it is, don’t reduce nor increase,” he said.
Previously, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama urged his subordinates to immediately report their wealth. He assessed that it is not reasonable if echelon II officials were able to buy luxurious cars worth billions of rupiah since their income is measured, starting from salary plus regional performance allowance (TKD).
Based on Governor Regulation No. 215/2009 on TKD, highest TKD nominal received by city’s civil servant is Rp 50 million per month, which received by city secretary. While for echelon II officials, their TKD is around Rp 22-28 million per month. As for the lowest TKD, it is Rp 5 million per month for non-echelon staff.
“Rich civil servants are possible if they gained wealth from their parents’ heritage or having business outside their profession as PNS. Maybe their business was run by other people. But, we also need to check what their business is,” uttered Basuki.
