Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan leads ceremony at Monas, Central Jakarta, in commemorating The 69th Anniversary of State Defense Day which is held by Defense Ministry on Tuesday (12/19).

Anies who reads the remark of President Joko Widodo said, this moment is reminded people that independence has been reached by Indonesian through massive struggle.

He explained, all sides are involved in defending our nation. Struggle to liberate this nation has been done since hundreds years before, not only before and after proclamation.

"State defense is not only defined as physical struggle, neither to protect nor defend, but it is defined in all aspects," he added.

According to him, today's struggle is to get rid from poverty and inequality, realizing justice and be a part of the world. Thus state defense day commemoration is a good opportunity to make us realize about things that we could do to our nation.

"Youth people should try hard to be productive, create new inventions to make this country become advanced and prosperous," he stated.
