The appearance of bus shelters in Jakarta are now different. Recently, those bus shelters are decorated with Betawi ornaments to make it more beautiful and attractive.

Jakarta Bina Marga Dept., Yusmada Faizal said his side plans to renovate 33 bus shelter this year. His side wants to include local wisdom elements in this renovation.

"We are renovating 33 bus shelter in total. It is targeted to be done by the end of this year. Half of it has been completed," he informed, Tuesday (12/19).

His side also adds some Betawi ornaments as the local wisdom elements in those 33 bus shelters. Such as gigi balang to decorate the roof and ondel-ondel at the corner of shelter.

"We also give red and white colors for the shelter," he added.

33 bus shelters renovation is divided in 3 categories. There are heavy, medium, and light renovation. Heavy renovation is done in 8 locations, such as DPRD DKI Bus Shelter, Medan Merdeka Barat Bus Shelter, UKI Bus Shelter,  Slamet Riyadi Bus Shelter, Daan Mogot Bus Shelter, and Abdul Muis Bus Shelter.

"Heavy renovation is done because former bus shelter condition has already porous and impossible to only repair it. Thus it needs to be dismantled and reconstructed," he conveyed.

For medium renovation, he continued, is done in 10 locations. While light renovation in 15 locations. Rp 22 billion is allocated for 33 bus shelters renovation.

"Its renovation is using e-katalog and direct procurement," he affirmed.
