Row village in Petogogan, South Jakarta, has been inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo in last April. But until now, out of 123 houses exist, 43 houses at RT 10 and 12 RW 05 still have not got electricity supply.
My house still has not got electricity supply until now
“My house still has not got electricity supply until now,” said Teti, a local, Thursday (7/3).
Despite no electricity, Teti and her family remain living in that house because the cost to rent a house is quite expensive.
“To rent a house needs Rp 1 million per month. We better live in our own house then find a way to get electricity. So, we connect the electricity cables from neighbor’s house and pay the electricity bill together. But, we don’t feel good because the electricity power often drops since the connection is used together,” she uttered.
Based on the locals’ information, they use the same method used by Teti to light up their houses.
Responding this matter, Head of Petogogan Urban Village, Kuswara, admitted that indeed there are houses in Petogogan Row Village which still have not got electricity supply due to the electricity installation design has not been approved by the State Electricity Company (PLN).
“PLN has come here several times to monitor. They assessed that the electricity installation has yet met standard because its initial design installed by the row village project contractor is wrong. But, we have done repair, so the electricity is now ready to be supplied,” he stated.
