City to Touch Cooperation of Bike Rental System

City Provincial Government is about to touch a bike rental cooperation along with oBike Indonesia. It is to support public activities in order to realize an eco-friendly city.

Jakarta should go deeper into the realm of metropolis behavior

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno expressed, there are ideas for residents who will take trip under 500 meters, where they have to walk. Then use of bicycles will be applied for a maximum distance of 2.5 kilometers, and if it takes longer, they must ride public transportation.

"I'm instructing Jakarta Smart City (JSC) to do sharing and approaching from big data with oBike Indonesia. Jakarta should go deeper into the realm of metropolis behavior," he expressed, after he met the representatives of oBike Indonesia, at City Hall, Tuesday (1/2).

As a leading sector, he assessed, JSC must develop intensive communication with them. Thus rhe lilot case could soon be set and continued with multisctor approaching.

"I give a deadline about one month to them in touching cooperation," he told.

In the meantime, JSC Technical Unit Head, Setiaji added there are two pilot projects to apply bike rental system. They are in closed areas like in Monas and Ancol and open areas like in Kebon Sirih and its surrounding areas.

"We will try those pilot to get behavior from utilization of bike sharing, particularly at close range," he uttered.
