2017, Fire Case in South Jakarta Reached 311 Cases

In January-December 2017, it has been noted that fire case in South Jakarta reached 311 cases. The number has increased compared to 2016, which is 244 cases.

South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept. Head, Irwan said, to reduce fire case, his sub-dept. has been trying to give socialization and training of early fire handling to residents and workers in the office.

"Additionally, along 2017, we also have given portable fire extinguisher (APAR) to 850 units," he expressed, Tuesday (1/9). 

Two Fire Cases Occurred in West Jakarta

Generally, he explained, the cause of fires is dominated by electricity short-circuit which reaches 60 percent. Then it is followed by the gas stove with 25 percent and others with 15 percent.

He added non-fire case is also handled such as wild animal evacuation, people drowned in rivers, climbed to billboards and others with 347 cases.

"Total amount of the material losses last year is about Rp 55.147 billion," he stated.
