City Requested to Concern About Two Things Regarding TOD Expansion

"For TOD expansion, government should concern about two things. Those are institutional and financing aspects," said Priyadi Priyautama, Secretary of Commission IV's Development and Environment Department of City DRD, Monday (1/15).

He explained, institutional aspect means an institution is needed in coordinating TOD expansion since it is involved by many institutions.

"This can't be done only by one side. Jakarta Government has assigned MRT to be TOD's operator. But, it still needs a collaboration between stakeholders and institution to manage it," he conveyed.

For financing aspect, he mentioned each sides need different budget allocations. Moreover TOD area will contribute in adding revenue besides ticket.

He assessed, TOD areas will be increased due to rail-based transportation development such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), airport train, and KRL. It is estimated 40-50 locations will be added.
